Madikwe Lion

The Madikwe Game Reserve sits on the South African—Botswana border, and is situated in an area that is free of malaria; just 3 hours drive from Johannesburg. The Madikwe game reserve hosts all of the Big Five, Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, and Buffalo in large concentrations, as well as Cheetah, Hyena, Sable, Eland, Gemsbok, Giraffe, and the speciality of the area—the endangered Wild Dog. Large herds of plains game and over 300 species of bird are also endemic to this reserve. This allows for fantastic sightings, whilst on day or night game drives or bush walks, which are conducted by highly trained guides.
