What Africa Uncovered says...
Selous Impala Camp is a small tented camp that is a great option for those seeking a basic but comfortable camp in a great game viewing region.
The camp consists of just 8 tented rooms that blend in well with the surrounding vegetation and overlook either the Rufiji River or a lagoon. The tents are well spaced and allow for an authentic Selous Safari experience. There is also a large open communal, lounge and dining area with plenty of sofas, tables and chairs as well as a well stocked bar. There is also a lovely raised fireplace right on the river’s edge where guests can relax.
The 8 tents are "Meru-style" made of green canvas and have double ceilings for coolness and double zipped doors, one of canvas and one of gauze, to keep out insects, and there are roll down canvas blinds on the netted windows, both inside and out. Each tented room as en-suite facilities including a shower and flush toilet. Each tent also has a small verandah with a table and chairs with views over the Rufiji River or lagoon. Included in the 8 tented room are 2 family tents. There is also a built in safe in each tented room.
Selous Impala Camp also has a lovely swimming pool which is the perfect place to relax and refresh after a morning game drive. As the camp is open and wild animals are free to roam through the camp, Masaai askaris accompany guests to and from their rooms.
Activities at Selous Impala Camp include game drives in 4x4 vehicles as well as boat safaris and intrepid bush walks.
