What Africa Uncovered says...
Kigelia Ruaha Camp is a small tented safari camp located in Ruaha’s finest game viewing region. The focus here is purely on exceptional game viewing!
The camp consists of just 6 large and stylish tents with en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and outdoor bucket shower. Hot and cold water is available. There is a small verandah at the entrance to each tented room from which animals can often be viewed as they pass through and around camp. Kigelia Ruaha Camp is an eco-friendly camp with solar lighting. Children 8 years and older are welcome at Kigelia Ruaha Camp, however only children over 12years are permitted on walking safaris at the camp.
The highlight of a safari in this region is the big game. Large herds of Elephant and Buffalo can often be seen particularly in drier winter months from July to October. Lion sightings are excellent and this region is also famed for its diversity of big antelope including greater & lesser kudu, sable and roan.
Activities include game drives in open safari vehicles and walking in this region is exceptional. We recommend a minimum of 3 nights at this camp in order to make full use of everything that this incredible region has to offer. This camp also combines really well with Sand Rivers Camp in the Selous or Jongomero Camp which is located in a different part of Ruaha further South in the park.
