ACCOMMODATION

Kulala Desert Lodge

The lodge has 14 thatched and canvas chalets or “Kulalas” (Kulala in the Namibian language “oshiwambo” means “to sleep”). Each room is en-suite and built on a wooden platform. For the more adventurous, matresses can be placed on private stargazing platforms on top of each room, for sleeping under the stars. The main lodge has a lounge, bar, dining area and plunge pool with Northern African décor inspiration. A wrap-around veranda overlooks the waterhole, providing a perfect location to view and photograph the desert sunset.

ACTIVITIES AND WILDLIFE

Kulala Safari

Guests can go on game drives to spectacular dunes, or choose to walk in the reserve to see the Namib scenery, desert wildlife and smaller desert fauna and flora. Guests can also partake in night drives or early morning hot air balloon rides. Game drives and walks are also offered on the private reserve with incredible views, desert game and smaller desert fauna and flora.

At an extra cost, early morning ballooning begins at first light. The 60–90 minute balloon safari offers a truly unique experience to soar silently above the magnificent sand dunes and desert – with a champagne breakfast served at your landing site.
