December to April: Serengeti Safari Camp is located on the southern Serengeti Plains as it shadows the main herds which head to the Southern Serengeti to calve through February. Birding is excellent during this time, as is general game viewing.
May to Early July: Serengeti Safari Camp moves to the Moru Kopjes area, central Serengeti Plains, and to the Western Corridor as the huge herds of Wildebeest and other plains game of the migration moves west and north. The migration patterns can be unpredictable at this time of year, but the wildebeest rut (May) and the crossing of the Grumeti River (June/July) are spectacular if caught.
Mid-July to November: Serengeti Safari Camp moves to the northern Serengeti close to either the Mara or Bologonja Rivers. This area offers excellent game viewing and the river crossings are exceptional to witness.
Towards late November: Serengeti Safari Camp starts to head south again, arriving on the southern Serengeti Plains around mid-December.
Serengeti Safari Camp is a highly recommended Safari camp for guests looking to pay a little more for an exclusive safari experience, in our eyes its well worth the cost.
