Situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Kings Camp reflects the charm and romance of a colonial past in a pristine corner of unspoilt Africa. Kings Camp is situated facing an open savanna plain with a waterhole, which is frequented by a wide variety of wildlife, day and night.
Kings Camp is one of the most luxurious camps in the Timbavati. The camp though is small and intimate and does offer an authentic safari experience, perfect for a luxury honeymoon safari as well as for families wanting a bit of luxury whilst on safari.
Kings Camp has nine generously spaced thatched colonial suites and two beautiful honeymoon suites. All suites are equipped with remote controlled air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, Victorian ball-and-claw bath, indoor and outdoor double shower, fully stocked mini-bar and private verandah with hammock. Dark tones of wood and thatch offset the natural colours of the bushveld.
The two Honeymoon suiteseach have their own private plunge pools which look out into the bush.
There is also a waterhole in front of Kings Camp which attracts an array of animals and there is a thatched viewing deck that overlooks the waterhole, so guests can sit back in comfort and be entertained viewing the animal activity at the waterhole from the sanctuary of the camp. Kings Camp also has a lovely big swimming pool where one can relax and enjoy the warm African afternoons.
Waterbuck Camp is a private camp located near Kings Camp. It consists of a 4-bedroomed air-conditioned Villa, accommodating up to 8 guests. Waterbuck camp is perfect for families and small group safaris as it offers privacy and the added luxury of your own vehicle and private guide and tracker, as well as your own butler and chef. Waterbuck Camp also has its own private swimming pool. Waterbuck Camp at Kings Camp can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests.
What our clients say
“"Kings Camp was even better than we remembered, the plunge pool was a welcome addition and we saw a honey badger in the evening on our way back to our room. I have been wanting to see a honey badger for 5 years!!”"

Morning and afternoon game drives with knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles. You will be served tea, coffee and biscuits on your morning game drive and drinks and canapés on your afternoon game drive. Your afternoon game drive gets back after dark, which gives you the opportunity to spot our nocturnal animals with a spotlight.
Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request, and is the best way of experiencing the “finer” aspects of the bushveld. Your knowledgeable ranger will guide you through the fauna and flora of the Timbavati Nature Reserve, pointing out insects, grasses, trees and the smaller species that are all an integral part of the Timbavati Nature Reserve.
