Best Honeymoon Safari Destinations

Africa has so many incredible destinations that selecting the best region for your Africa Honeymoon can be very overwhelming.

One of the most important aspects to work out is the split between safari and beach. Most Honeymooners travelling to Africa want a 2 week vacation with at least 1 week on the beach. For first time safari goers a South Africa Honeymoon is an excellent option as you can safari for 3 or 4 nights followed by a week or more in Mozambique, Mauritius or the Seychelles. As the safari part tends to be the most expensive part of the trip (and often the most memorable), three to four nights in a lovely private game reserve in the Sabi Sand, Kruger Park allows one a great opportunity to see the Big 5 (lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo). Of course seeing the Big 5 can never be guaranteed as there are wild animals however, Kruger offers a fantastic safari experience and a 3 to 4 night stay should allow for many incredible sightings. The safari camps and lodges in places like the Sabi Sands Reserve and Timbavati which share an unfenced border with Kruger, are often quite luxurious and so provide a home away from home in the bush.

Couples that prefer a longer safari than 3 or 4 nights should consider Kenya, Tanzania and Botswana. A Honeymoon in Tanzania visiting the amazing Northern Parks of Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and of course the Serengeti and ending with a beach stay on the magical spice Island of Zanzibar is an amazing Honeymoon itinerary to experience.

Kenya also has some iconic safari options for a Honeymoon. Amboseli National Park with its awesome views of Mount Kilimanjaro is a fantastic place to start your Honeymoon safari. Combined with a visit to Lake Nakuru, Meru National Park, Samburu and the magnificent Masai Mara and ending with a beach stay on the Kenyan Coast or Zanzibar is another excellent honeymoon option. A Kenya Honeymoon Safari also tends to be less expensive than a Honeymoon safari to Tanzania.

If an exclusive honeymoon safari is of paramount importance than a Botswana Honeymoon Safari is a magical experience. Botswana is breathtakingly beautiful and a combination of the Okavango Delta, Linyanti Willdife Reserve and ending with a couple of days at the Victoria Falls is an outstanding itinerary. A beach stay in Mozambique, Mauritius or Seychelles can easily be tagged on to a Botswana and Victoria Falls Honeymoon.

Tanzania’s Southern Parks of Selous and Ruaha are also excellent honeymoon options for those that are a little more intrepid. These magnificent safari regions also combine well with a beach stay on Zanzibar.

Any one of these outstanding wildlife and beach destinations are sure to deliver an experience beyond your wildest dreams and leave you planning many more anniversary return trips to this magnificent continent.
