SERENGETI SAFARI
A Serengeti Safari is one of Africa’s pure untamed wildlife experiences. Known by the Maasai people as “siringit—the place where the land moves on forever”. Wildlife is found in the Serengeti throughout the year with the Southern Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation area experiencing the peak of the migratory herds from January through to April, this is prime time for a Serengeti Safari in these areas. It should be noted that April and May are not the best months for a Tanzania Safari as these are the rainy months and the roads become an absolute nightmare to drive on. A lot of the Safari camps in the Serengeti close down over this period.
The central Serengeti, Seronera area is a fantastic place to see the predators, especially the huge Lion prides and the area explodes with activity around early June when the migration makes its way onto the fresh grasslands. A Serengeti Safari is excellent in the Seronera area at this time. The Western Corridor (Western Serengeti) is a more exclusive safari area and a prime location for the migration from mid June to July, before they head North East for the Mara River and the Masai Mara.
