Naboisho Camp is well off the beaten track but still offers the opportunity to safari in the Masai Mara. Naboisho also offers a good cultural experience as well as a more exclusive safari experience as the private concession prevents the masses of vehicles that you can get in the Mara.
Naboisho Camp is situated in the Naboisho Conservancy (a 50,000 acre area) that lies to the far east of the Mara/Serengeti Eco system. This exclusive eight tented camp set on a private conservancy is a shining example of conservation and communities working together. This 50 000-acre wilderness corridor – a project spearheaded by Asilia Africa – could be the future of conservation in Africa; partnering local landlords with tourism companies to conserve a vast tract of pristine Kenyan wilderness. By working with the 500 individual landowners that make up the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, they are able to ensure the benefits of eco-tourism – and your visit – trickle down to the Maasai families that have lived on these lands for generations.
Naboisho Camp is a real gem! Exclusivity and the Masai Mara often don’t go together, however this conservancy certainly allows one an exclusive safari experience whilst still allowing its visitors to sample the best of what the Mara has to offer.
Naboisho is a permanent camp, but leaving the smallest footprint possible. But that doesn’t mean comfort is compromised! In the eight spacious tents traditional bush style meets a fresh modern feel. High-level personal service creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. And a unique relationship with the surrounding Maasai community guarantees a safari experience far beyond the ordinary.
All tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and indoor and outdoor bush showers. Each luxury safari tent also has a large verandah with a day bed for relaxing after game drives and is attended by a personal butler.
For families there is a family tent which comprises of two interconnecting tents.
This magnificent region hosts a huge variety of wildlife – lion, leopard, cheetah, elephants, giraffes, plains games including the rare sighted wild dogs.
The activities at Naboisho Camp make the most of this unrivalled access to pristine wilderness: bush walks, off-road safaris, overnight fly camps, night drives and wilderness picnics are activities you could only dream of in the national reserves.
Sweeping open plains, savannah wilderness, undulating hills and riverine acacia forests are what make the Naboisho Conservancy such a special place. But the real benefit of having your safari in this region is the pure exclusivity that you can enjoy whilst on safari.
