The River Club is situated on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River 18 kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls, and guests here enjoy the sights and sounds of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River in a peaceful and tranquil setting away from the crowds. The Victoria Falls is one of the 7 Wonders of the World and is arguably the greatest waterfall in the world.
Daily trips to the Falls are a highlight. The Zambezi National Park is located just across the river, and elephants can be seen on the riverbank. A rich bird life is found in the area. Crocodiles and Hippos are regularly sighted (and heard) along the river’s edge.
Daily excursions to the Falls are offered. Boating to the Zambezi River’s islands provides relaxed afternoon activities, and fishing and sundowner trips are offered. Activities available at extra cost include white rafting, river surfing, bungee jumping, abseiling, parachuting, micro-light and helicopter flights over the Falls.
Set among lush riverine vegetation the camp has a distinct Edwardian flavour, with 10 luxury chalets overlooking the river. Each chalet has its own en-suite bathroom including a bath, shower, toilet and basin. All rooms have fans. Two honeymoon suites are available. The rooms are all completely open in the front giving guests the best possible views of the Zambezi. The main house includes a dining room, lounge and an interesting library, while the swimming pool has a magnificent view over the river. The River Club operates on an all-inclusive policy, which makes the initial cost look high. However, as all meals, drinks, park fees, visits to the Falls, sundowner cruises, village visits are included, the price one ends up paying is usually less expensive than other establishments.
