Greystoke Mahale

Tanzania Greystoke Mahale

Greystoke Mahale lies between the sandy shores of Lake Tanganyika and a huge Forest in the remote and pristine area of Western Tanzania. Due to its remote location Mahale has remained unspoiled and untouched for decades but is fast becoming a popular destination, as it is one of the best areas in Africa to walk and view Chimpanzees.

The forested slopes of the Mahale Mountains rise behind camp, home to the world’s largest known population of chimpanzees, with approximately 1,000 individuals inhabiting the national park. Greystoke Mahale affords its guests the magnificent opportunity to venture out into the forest, to observe these, our closest relatives, as they groom , wrestle and forage across the leafy floor.
