Wildlife
At Leopard Hills, Africa’s big game abounds and each day is different, as you explore the endless fascination of Africa’s wildlife in an open landrover. Leopard on the hunt. Lions roar at twilight. Hippo wallow in the river. Crocodile bask on a sandy bank. Overhead majestic eagles keep watch. Out walking you will discover some of the endlessly fascinating small creatures of Africa. These are just a few of the amazing encounters awaiting you!
Leopard Hills is surrounded by a vast array of wildlife, birdlife, reptile and flora species, and are proud to be associated with the Big 5 wildlife, which roam freely around the reserve. Game can be viewed on game drives, walking safaris, or even from the privacy of your suite deck.
Game Drives
Your knowledgeable and professional ranger conducts early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives, in search of Africa’s big game. State-of-the-art landrovers, specifically designed for Leopard Hills, have individual bucket seats with fold-down armrests, ensuring your optimum safety and comfort.
Wildlife Photography
Those with a passion for wildlife photography will be able to get various tips from their ranger on taking the perfect picture, while on their game drive or walking safari. Our rangers are avid fans of photography, many of them having entered renowned international and local competitions with great results. Please do not hesitate to ask your ranger for assistance in this regard.
Walking Safaris
Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request, and is the best way of experiencing the ‘finer’ aspects of the bushveld. Your knowledgeable ranger will guide you though the fauna and flora of the Sabi Sand Reserve, pointing out insects, grasses, trees and smaller species that are all an integral part of the greater Kruger National Park ecosystem.
Below is a sample itinerary for the amazing weddings that are conducted at Leopard Hills
On arrival at the lodge the day before your ceremony, spend a day together in relaxation. Enjoy a peaceful lunch, afternoon game drive and sundowner drinks, in celebration of your matrimony the following day. Experience a traditional boma dinner under the African stars or a silver service dinner in our dining room, before retreating to the tranquility of your suite for a good nights rest to the sounds of the African night.
On the morning of your wedding, awake for the early morning game drive and a decadent breakfast, followed by a 30 minute back and neck massage treatment for the Bride and Groom in the privacy of your suite or in our Sala. Enjoy a lunch together with your Pastor to discuss the relevance and sanctity of matrimony and then bid each other goodbye, but not for long, as the bride leaves her groom to prepare for the ceremony ahead.
After the ceremony, the bridal couple will be whisked away by their ranger and photographer for sundowners and photographs.
