Occupying a breathtaking site on the lower slopes of Table Mountain and set in nine acres of lush and tranquil gardens, the Mount Nelson is Cape Town’s most famous hotel, located just a short stroll from the historic city centre and vibrant Kloof Street with its array of up-market restaurants, bars and coffee shops.

The luxurious rooms and suites offer garden or mountain facing views. There are four different categories of suite and also the Garden Cottage Suites which are perfect for a Honeymoon stay.

The Suites all have en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and bath. The Junior Suites, Deluxe Junior Suites and superior one bedroom suites all have a separate lounge area or open plan lounge. All the suites at the Mount Nelson Hotel have views of either Table Mountain, the courtyard or the lush gardens. There are also 2 purpose-built accessible suites.

The Superior one bedroom suites and the deluxe suites also have larger open plan lounges and dining areas and luxurious marble bathrooms with walk in dressing rooms and private balcony.

The luxurious Presidential Suite encompasses a stylish marbled entrance hall, a private dining room, master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a large lounge leading onto a balcony with stunning views of Table Mountain. There is also a wet bar, complete with a microwave, stove, sink and kitchen utensils.

The eight Garden Cottage Suites are restored historic cottages that have their own secluded pool area. The cottages also feature four-poster beds and glamorous marble bathrooms, making them ideal romantic hideaways for honeymooners and couples. Other special features include separate living and dining areas, wet bars, mini-libraries and enclosed patios.

The Mount Nelson is one of the few hotels in Cape Town that offer an extensive range of leisure facilities include two heated swimming pools, two floodlit tennis courts, a body care centre, gymnasium with personal trainers, a golf practice net, two gift shops and high speed internet access throughout the hotel.

The hotel offers two restaurants – the Cape Colony restaurant offers an eclectic mix of contemporary Southern European and Western Cape trends, utilizing the very best of fresh local and international produce, whilst the Oasis restaurant, overlooking the beautiful gardens and swimming pool, offers the perfect venue for relaxed alfresco dining, ranging from extensive breakfast and lunch options, through to simpler health-focused meals.

The Hotel is also famous for its decadent Afternoon Tea served daily in the invitingly elegant lounge.The Mount Nelson has opened its highly acclaimed kitchen to the public, offering guests the opportunity to dine in the heart of the kitchen and simultaneously enjoy a ‘fish-bowl glimpse’ into the chefs’ previously secret domain.
