SOUNDS OF AFRICA SAFARI (DEREK SOLOMON)
Go into the field on foot or in open safari vehicles with Derek Solomon and experience the thrill of hearing the sounds of the African bush through a pair of headphones. Our specialized sound equipment includes an outdoor microphone with multi-user headphones and an underwater hydrophone.
Derek has been leading special interest safaris in Southern Africa for nearly 15 years and has an intimate knowledge of the wildlife of the region. He has an avid interest in animal behaviour and communication and is currently working on a project on hippo communication together with a leading USA based hippo specialist. Derek is also recognized as one of the foremost bird authorities in the region and has published several books on bird identification.
