ACCOMMODATION

There are 9 chalets, consisting of eight twin bedded chalets, and one honeymoon chalet, and one single and one twin pilot/guide room, located behind the kitchen. The camp can accommodate 18 guests.

Rock, brick, timber and thatch units built on the side of a mountain with exceptional views.
All units have large glass fold-back windows overlooking the desert.
En-suite shower, also with exceptional views of the desert
Outside plunge pool on each unit.
Fans and large square mosquito nets in rooms.
Soaps, shampoos and insect repellents are supplied in each room

CAMP DESCRIPTION

Main unit under thatch, large outside veranda area with views of the desert.
Pub and dining area with small curio shop stocking mainly clothes items.
Swimming pool.
Bathroom at airstrip for arriving guests.
Stargazing platform & open-air dining deck under the stars

GAME VIEWING

The area is renowned for its physical beauty and not for game viewing. Possible wildlife sightings include Oryx, Cape Fox, Jackal, Springbok, Ostrich, Aardvark and many desert species of plants.

ACTIVITIES

Excursions to Sossusvlei Dunes – 1hr30 to 2-hour drive to the end of Sossusvlei.
Two custom-built stretch Land Rovers and one standard Land Rover seating up to nine people. Land Rovers are closed; however there are blankets on the vehicles for when it is cold and windy.
Hot Air balloons at Sesriem (on request, and at an additional cost).
Nature drives on the property.
Nature walks on request.
Optional night drive after dinner to look for Bat-Eared Foxes and Aardwolf.

SUGGESTED DAILY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE

Below is only a suggestion – as daily wildlife sightings tend to throw the schedule right out.

04h30 – Early morning breakfast of juices and cereals.
05h30 – Depart for Sesriem.
07h00 – Arrive at Sossusvlei, climb dunes and enjoy area. Breakfast at foot of the dunes. Return to the camp at lunchtime.
13h00 – Lunch. In winter guests have picnics in the vlei and return back to camp in the late afternoon.
17h00 – Tea of sweet and savoury snacks is served.
17h30 – Depart on nature drive with sundowners on the property.
20h30 – Dinner – three-course dinner is served incorporating a number of local Namibian dishes served buffet style.

Payment can made in cash (US dollars), traveller’s cheques, and by Visa or Mastercard credit cards.
If guests wish to tip, our recommended tipping schedule is as follows:
Lodge staff – US$3.00 per guest per day.
Driver/guides – US$5.00 per guest per day. This is the suggested gratuity schedule only and is subject to service standards.
