Safari lodges in Kenya comprise both brick hotels and cottages as well as luxury tented camps. A large proportion of the tented camps especially in and around the Masai Mara are removed during the period of the long rains and then reconstructed in time for their avid safari guests, this allows the land time to recover and so does not have a negative impact on the environment. Most of the safari lodges are also unfenced allowing for a completely wild experience as wild animals are free to roam where they please and guests may even get great animal sightings without even having to leave their rooms.
