ACCOMMODATION
9 tents in total consisting of:
- 8 x twin bedded tents
- 1 king-size bedded honeymoon tented suite under thatch with a ball & claw bath
- 1 twin guide room en-suite which is similar standard but not exactly same as guest units
Tent details:
- Luxury tented rooms with thatched roof bathrooms built on raised teak deck.
- Views from tents of lagoon year round
- Plunge pool, Sala, Lounge area and Fan in each unit
- Stacking doors with shade net in the frame which can fold open onto the deck if you want it all open
- Brick and thatch bathroom tiled walls and floor
- Each unit has a dressing area (rectangular shape subdivided by luggage rack/cupboard), bedroom, bathroom (separate toilet, double vanity and basin, shower, sliding door off the front to the deck with an outside shower)
- Soaps, shampoos and insect repellent are supplied in each tent
- Outdoor shower
CAMP DESCRIPTION
- Large dining room, pub and lounge under thatch, deck on stilted platforms
- Swimming pool
- Curio shop
- Slide projector available
- Open air boma for dinner around camp fire
- Camp hide with underground hides near the camp
- Can do cocktail Reception between DumaTau and King Pool (on request only for large groups taking over both camps).
ACTIVITIES
- Type – 80% Game drives, 20% Water activities
- Game drives via 4×10 seater open 4×4 Land Rovers each accommodating max. of 7 guests, allowing all an outside seat.
- Walking Safaris
- Hides for game viewing
- Water game viewing via double-decker pontoon boat (12 persons max.) except possibly only in November-February if the waters are low
- 1×6 seater game viewing boat year round
SUGGESTED DAILY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE
Below is only a suggestion – as daily wildlife sightings tend to throw the schedule right out of schedule.
Summer/Winter
05h00/06h00 – Wake up call. Light continental breakfast consisting of cereals, tea/coffee/juices and pastries.
05h30/06h30 – Depart on morning activity, returning to camp at approximately 10h00.
10h00/11h00 – Brunch will consist of a selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. Guests will be at leisure until afternoon tea. The hides are available for midday activity.
16h00/15h00 – Afternoon tea will be serviced – this will consist of a selection of sweet and savoury snacks.
16h30/15h30 – Depart on afternoon game viewing activity – drinks & snacks will be served for sundowners during the course of the activity.
19h30/19h00 – Return to camp (but could be later if good game sightings).
20h00/19h30 – Pre-dinner drinks and snacks will be served at the pub.
20h30/20h00—3-course dinner – generally speaking the starter and desert is served, whilst the main course is buffet style.
21h30/21h00 – Coffee and liqueurs will be served at the campfire.
