ACCOMMODATION

10 tents in total consisting of:

  • 8 twin bedded tents
  • 1 Family unit – accommodates five guests
  • 1 king size bedded honeymoon tent (# 1)
    This camp can accommodate 20 guests plus tour leader(s)

Tent details:

  • Canvas cottages, raised off the ground on decks, wooden doors, thatch roof “landscape shaped tent”
  • En-suite facilities with indoor glass shower & outsider shower, single basin
  • Each room has views over the floodplains & lagoon
  • Mosquito nets over the beds and Fans in all guest tents
  • Soaps, shampoos and insect repellents are supplied in each tent

  • Dining room & pub under thatch, on decks

  • Landscape view from pub & dining area
  • Slide projector available
  • Curio shop
  • Dinner available in the bush after cocktail cruise. (On request if exclusive use of camp).
  • Can do cocktail reception between Kings Pool and DumaTau. (On request for larger groups who want to meet up)

ACTIVITIES

  • 90% Game drives, 10% Water activities.
  • Land game drives in open 4×4 Land Rovers – camp has 4×10-seater Land Rovers, max. 6 or 7 guests per vehicle.
  • Night drives
  • Game walks and hides
  • Motor Boat, 1×6 seater
  • Fishing
  • No Mokoro
  • Single decker pontoon boat for Sundowner Cruise (water levels permitting)
  • Pontoon to transfer vehicles across lagoon to utilize other side of the concession

SUGGESTED DAILY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE

Below is only a suggestion as to what may happen in camp – as daily wildlife sightings tend to throw the schedule right out of schedule.

Summer/Winter

05h00/06h00 – Wake up call. Light continental breakfast of cereals, tea/coffee/juices and pastries to be served in the dining area.
05h30/06h30 – Depart on morning activity, returning to camp at approximately 13h00.
10h00/11h00 – Brunch will consist of a selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. Until afternoon tea, guests will be at leisure.
16h00/15h00 – Afternoon tea will be served – this will consist of a selection of sweet and savoury snacks.
16h30/15h00 – Depart on afternoon game viewing activity – drinks and snacks will be served for sundowners during the activity.
19h30/19h00 – Return to camp (but could be later if good game sightings).
20h00/19h30 – Pre-dinner drinks and snacks will be served at the pub.
20h30/20h00 – 3-course dinner – generally the starter and desert is served, whilst the main course is buffet style.
21h30/21h00 – Coffee and liqueurs will be served at the campfire.
